About the role:
As a Software Development Manager you will be a direct line manager supporting our innovative Banking solutions clients. Development Managers work with cutting edge technologies as you manage teams and build innovative fintech products that change the way the world pays, banks and invests. This will involve developing core versions of software applications, identifying client requirements and technical specifications, interacting with engineering groups and training clients on applications.

This role is with our Banking Solutions development team and help build the next generation of Community Banking solutions at FIS. What you’ll be doing:

The Dev Manager is responsible for supporting the dev teams. This role involves ensuring that development activities align with business objectives, promoting high standards of quality and efficiency, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. The Manager will closely collaborate with the Value Stream Tech Lead, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth execution of the issue management process.

This position requires building and maintaining productive working relationships and effectively engaging with personnel and management at all levels across technical and business functions within FIS and client/partner organizations.

  • Designs and develops software product applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software applications for internal use.

  • Manages full software development lifecycle including testing, implementation, and auditing.

  • Performs product design, bug verification and beta support which may require research and analysis.

  • Resolves critical issues and contributes to the business unit/area development.

  • Manages work efforts of managers/supervisors with responsibility for hiring, firing, performance appraisals and pay reviews.

  • Identifies and allocates technical resources, e.g., programmers, business analysts to client projects within Development. Includes a mix of FTEs assigned to the development organization and purchased resources from other lines of business.

  • Forecasts resource needs based on an analysis of both portfolio and projected client spend.

  • Maximizes both utilization and profitability of assigned team of resources’ billable time.

  • Ensures base applications meet appropriate quality standards.

  • Adheres to the departmental application development and client delivery process standards.

  • Provides input on product direction to product managers.

  • Coordinates with industry compliance consultants and product managers to verify applications meet regulatory compliance.

  • Ensures proper application of technology.

  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $123,810.00 - $207,980.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
