Abbott is a leader in providing enteral nutrition feeding devices, including enteral feeding pumps and pump sets. Enteral feeding (also known as tube feeding) is a means of providing nutrition to people who cannot obtain nutrition by swallowing. Enteral nutrition contains all the calories and vitamins a person needs.
Primary Function
- The Senior Accountant is responsible for consulting any SOP’s/IFP/CFM for any job task he/she may carry out and ensure they fully understand and adhere to the policies.
- Housekeeping is a critical function of all jobs and the Senior Accountant is expected to ensure all housekeeping activities in their work area are observed and carried out appropriately. It is important they are in adherence to the Housekeeping SOP/6S standards.
- It is important that GMP is a main priority in any operation carried out in this job function.
- Ensure accounting practices are in compliance with Abbott Policy and regulatory policies.
- Ensure month end reporting is carried out efficiently and in line with agreed timetable.
·Ensure all monthly reconciliations and journals are prepared and approved.
·Ensure all data required for Weekly absorption/S&OP, HOST, MBR, Tier 3, SIC and other reviews is prepared, entered and verified in line with agreed deadlines.
- Assist Controller in Plan/LBE/PCGP/Year end and other review preparation.
- Complete relevant CSO returns on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Carry out other assignments/projects as directed by the Controller.
- Provide financial support to other departments to assist in goal achievements.
- The job function will change where update procedures to GMP, EHS, Technical / New equipment, Quality procedures and SOP’s are made.
Key Responsibility:
- Financial planning & Analysis: Completion of month end reports including variance analysis, preparation of Quarterly LBE’s (Latest best estimates) together with Divisional annual plan and reporting requirements to CFS (Corporate financial services) including but not limited to file preparation, HOST system updates, Monthly business review data and development and maintenance of Short Interval Controls to measure and improve key metrics.
- Overhead & Distribution cost management: Liaise with relevant department managers to ensure that plan and update submission are accurate, proactive management of variances and cost savings/ negative trends are highlighted.
- Cost Improvement Projects (CIP): Assess information within the Finance Department and outside of finance and work with Operational Excellence manager to identify opportunities and record /report same on a monthly basis.
- Costs accounting: Maintain MCS/ERP System accordingly for standard costing and BOM updates.
- Inventory management: Liaise with hub accountant and main point of contact for site in relation to all Inventory transactions (DOH, Forecasting, DMTT, reserves, PPV, MUV, CIP etc) including the management of annual Physical Inventory process for Raw materials/WIP/FG and conduct weekly cycle count spot checks.
- Pumps Service Centres: Management of budgets, variance analysis & business partner to service centres in UK, Saudi, Turkey, Australia, Columbia and Argentina.

Education & Experience
You will have a Professional qualification in accountancy with a minimum of 6 years' experience in accounting which includes 3 years' experience in manufacturing industry/ERP experience.

- Excellent communication, people management & interpersonal skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Advanced excel/Power Query and BI skills is an advantage.
