The Opportunity

In this exciting position, you’ll work closely with our third-party provider to ensure smooth and efficient payroll operations, driving success and excellence every step of the way. As a valuable member of the AgeCare team, you will also act as a representative for the organization's payroll needs, ensuring top-notch quality and unwavering support for our company's continued growth.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure that our third-party service provider delivers timely and accurate production of weekly payroll, year-end payroll, RRSP, and benefit analysis, as well as reconciliation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and collaborate with the third-party service provider to ensure compliance and promptly address any payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers.
  • Represent and articulate the payroll-related business needs of AgeCare and effectively communicate the expectations to the service provider.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of workflows between site operations and payroll, enabling a seamless and coordinated approach to resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of our Workday and UKG payroll practices to facilitate and drive continuous improvements.
  • Participate in special projects, evaluation of new systems and procedures, and other ad hoc projects and analytics to support senior management.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • Certifications such as Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) are preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with HCM and payroll systems, including leadership experience managing teams.
  • Proven experience managing multiple union payrolls.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, taxation, and best practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, or be willing to obtain one.
