Position Title: Human Resources and Talent Specialist
Reports to: SVP of Human Resources
Location: This is a 100% in-office role in Austin, TX designed to support collaboration, partnership, and team connection.
Position Summary: Brohn Homes is seeking a highly organized and driven HR & Talent Specialist to support recruiting, HR operations, and employee programs. This is a high-growth, early-career HR role with real exposure to recruiting, HR operations, and cross-functional partnership across the business. This role partners closely with the SVP of Human Resources and plays an active role in how the business attracts, hires, and supports talent across the organization.
The HR & Talent Specialist is responsible for evaluating candidates, providing hiring recommendations, and helping ensure an efficient and effective recruiting process. In addition to recruiting, this role supports core HR operations and contributes to initiatives that improve efficiency and enhance the team member experience.
This position is best suited for someone who takes initiative, exercises sound judgment, and thrives in an environment where hiring demands and priorities can shift quickly. The ideal candidate is able to adapt, switch gears as needed, and step in and help manage increased hiring activity during periods of higher volume. Duties / Responsibilities:
Recruiting & Talent Support:
Manage job postings across recruiting platforms and internal systems
Evaluate resumes and conduct candidate pre-screens to assess qualifications, experience, and potential cultural fit
Exercise independent judgment in identifying qualified candidates and recommending next steps in the hiring process
Provide hiring managers with candidate summaries, evaluations, and hiring recommendations
Partner with hiring managers to review candidate strengths and assist in candidate selection decisions
Manage recruiting workflow and prioritize open positions to help ensure hiring timelines are met
Coordinate interview scheduling between candidates and hiring managers
Maintain accurate candidate records within the applicant tracking system
Prepare offer letters and coordinate onboarding for new hires
Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process
HR Administration, Operations, Employee Programs, and Engagement:
Maintain employee records and HR documentation
Support and coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes
Support HR system administration and follow-up tasks within Workday
Track training completion and HR compliance requirements
Prepare HR reporting and internal data tracking
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and recommend solutions that improve efficiency and organization
Support planning logistics, communication, and materials for internal events and programs
Demonstrates ownership and adaptability by taking on additional responsibilities and initiatives aligned with team and business needs.
Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in HR, recruiting, administrative support, or a related role preferred
Experience reviewing resumes, conducting candidate screens, or supporting hiring processes is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred but not required.

Ability to exercise sound judgment when evaluating candidates and prioritizing recruiting activities
Experience working with HR systems or HRIS platforms; Workday experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and company information
Self-starter who takes initiative and is comfortable working with a high level of ownership and autonomy

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment and is a 100% in-office role. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, and phones.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, exempt position. An exempt employee is one who is not entitled to the minimum wage or overtime pay protections of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. This position may work outside of normal business hours to include evenings and weekends as needed to complete job responsibilities.
Travel: This position may require occasional travel to company offices, division locations, model homes, recruiting events, volunteer activities such as Brohn Does Good Days, and company meetings. Most travel will be local within the region, with limited overnight travel possible for training sessions or company events.
