As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts in the New Glenn Launch Operations Vehicle Mechanical group, you will be a leader in the Launch Operations efforts in the execution launch vehicle stage processing and integration, from manufacturing handover through stage mate operations, to launch vehicle on Transport Erector for roll to the pad at the Orbital Launch Site. This role is a combination of operations planning, coordination, documentation, hands-on work, team supervision, and system troubleshooting/data analysis. This position will focus on vehicle access, stage mates, tooling, rigging and related GSE, and stage mate operations.
Responsibilities:
Develop Launch Operation vehicle integration CONOPS, test plans and procedures accordance with program requirements
Direct a team to perform stage to stage mate operations and vehicle close outs for launch.
Ensure stage mate tools, vehicle cradles, access stands, and grounds support equipment required to perform vehicle processing, stage mate and closeouts for launch are design, tested, and functional to support required task.
Write test procedures, managing procedural redlines and updates during launch campaigns
Coordinating and directing other engineers, test crews, support equipment, outside agencies, and vehicle configurations for readiness testing thru post-launch
Ensure common operations are performed across launch campaigns
Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations
Troubleshoot real-time issues with ground systems under high pressure situations
Reduce, analyzing and archiving test data to support requirements verification tasks
Qualifications:
Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering
1+ year experience with ground/vehicle integration systems operation and maintenance
Experience designing, operating and maintaining integration systems, mechanisms and related electronics/control systems
Demonstrated experience leading test teams as a Test Conductor or Operations Engineer
Demonstrated experience working with Air Force Range requirements, as they pertain to Launch Pad design and operations
Experience developing, writing and updating test procedures
Demonstrated strong team leadership skills
Strong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operations
Hands-on experience with hazardous testing with a strong safety record
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Ability to receive/hold elevated US security clearance levels
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Desired:
Experience in sub-contract management of suppliers including request for proposal, specification and statement of work.
Knowledge of systems engineering practices, manufacturing fabrication and assembly processes, and quality control.
Experience designing tooling and equipment used for vehicle and stage processing.
Clean sheet ConOps development for new vehicle integration processes.
