Referrals Coordinator

The Role:

Medcan is recruiting for a Referral's Coordinator to join its Client Care Centre. The ideal candidate is an organized and client-centric professional who possess excellent communication and client service skills and has an appreciation for detail. The role is primarily responsible for the processing of referrals and booking appointments.

The Goal:

  • Deliver exceptional administrative back office support to clients and health care providers.

​​The Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate follow up care from appointments

  • Work with Physicians and Nurses in managing client care

  • Respond to all communications including e-mails and phone calls in a timely manner

  • Coordinate with other staff to ensure exceptional delivery of service

  • Answer patient calls from assigned phone queues

  • Perform other administrative functions including faxing, printing, scanning and mailing to patients and other health care providers and facilities

​There is no face-to-face patient contact in this role; the primary interaction with patients is through the telephone or by e-mail. The role is well suited to candidates who have demonstrated the ability to thrive in a changing environment, have excellent organization skills, a strong attention to detail, an ability to prioritize and have experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.

The Requirements:

  • Prior experience in an administrative or client service position

  • Experience in a Medical Office position is an asset

  • Medical Office Administration diploma is a plus

  • Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills

  • Proficient in Outlook

  • Exceptional client service skills

  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology

  • Experience with Accuro EMR and Salesforce is a plus

​​The role reports to the Team Lead, Referrals and hybrid opportunity to work from home with some requirement to be in office as needed. Working Monday through Friday.
