Leidos’ Defense Systems / Manufacturing is seeking a talented TEST ENGINEER to join our team at our PIF location in Huntsville, AL.You will be supporting a rapidly growing program and will work along a group of test engineers (electrical/mechanical) and test technicians, developing acceptance and qualification testing procedures for multiple electronic and mechanical components. This position will be supporting ongoing test cases and establishing procedures, baselines, and methods for the manufacturing process.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Creating, modifying, and executing test plans for development, qualification, and acceptance phases of manufacturing projects
  • Completing requirements verification and validation documentation and reports.
  • Performing test data analysis and generating test reports from that analysis
  • Briefing both internal and external parties on test results and data.
  • Debugging software and/or hardware with various tools.
  • The position is primarily in a manufacturing environment but may require working outside in all weather conditions.
  • Candidate will also handle all tasks assigned by the supervisor and be writing reports and updating records.
  • Candidate will be part of a diverse team whose work will include setting up test equipment, performing functional testing of hardware, confirming software functionality, setting up dynamic/climatic test environments, and subsystem AI&T. 

Basic Qualifications

  • The position requires an ABET accredited B.S. or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or electrical engineering with 2+ years of experience or less than 2 years with MS.
  • Candidate must demonstrate relevant skills in one or more focus areas, have good interpersonal skills, and have the desire to work in a highly focused technical team.
  • Candidate must possess basic skills using hand tools, electrical troubleshooting (DMM), and MS Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Have advanced experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently, or as part of a team, in a dedicated workforce.
  • Candidate must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and must possess and maintain a Final Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in acceptance testing including electrical devices, mechanical functions, software integration, and RF measurements.
  • Working knowledge and operation of electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, voltmeter, signal analyzer/generator)
  • Experience preparing and presenting briefings and/or demonstrations to customers and management

  • Organizational skills to document test procedures, test reports and support configuration management of the test equipment.
  • Explosive/Ordnance training.
  • Experience in the functional testing of avionics components.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00
