The Quant Solutions Group (QSG) is a global, cross-asset team that builds the software and analytics that underpin the Global Markets business. The analytical software and data solutions developed by QSG are widely used across CIBC, helping the Distribution team to price trades and serve clients, Trading to manage their risk, and Structuring to identify new client opportunities. The team is split between London, Toronto, and New York, with this role being based in London.
In this role, you will act as a Quantitative Analyst supporting our global Commodities business. The business trades derivative instruments on a wide range of commodity underlyings, including: energy (oil, gas and power); precious and base metals; soft commodities; and commodity indices.
The primary responsibility of the role is to implement derivatives pricing models in C++ within our core pricing library. Additionally, you will work closely with the trading desk to design and develop analytical tooling that supports the desk in understanding market dynamics and managing risk exposures.
There will be an initial focus on power modelling, and in particularly building a set of models to support power option trading.
Develop, implement, and maintain derivatives pricing models for commodity products in C++.
Collaborate with traders and quants to validate models and ensure alignment with trading needs.
Build tools, using Python and/or C++, to help the trading desk analyse market conditions, risk exposures, and scenario outcomes.
Work with the desk to identify gaps in tooling and provide innovative analytical solutions.
Partner closely with traders, risk managers, and technology teams to translate business needs into quantitative solutions.
Work with large-scale market and risk datasets for modelling and analytics purposes.
Ensure robust data handling, efficiency, and computational performance in all model implementations.
This role will involve close collaboration with business stakeholders, quantitative analysts, and technology partners across CIBC Global Markets.
