The Position:

Reporting to the General Manager, we are looking for a hospitality professional responsible for prospecting, contracting, producing, and executing catering events/sales while supporting daily operations.

General Responsibilities:

  • Handle event inquiries, prospecting, proposals, negotiations and contracting according to procedure and within specified time frame

  • Handle the collective coordination of all event information and resources, account management, sales prospecting, and business development

  • Manage the communication and details of booked events from start to finish

  • Respond to event inquiries via phone and email to provide comprehensive planning details

  • Create proposals, floorplans, administrate BEOs, contracts and timelines

  • Guide clients with appropriate food and beverage selections, room layout, décor, and audio visual needs as it pertains to each event

  • Prepare and maintain up to date and well-organized event records through Tripleseat and shared drive

  • Schedule sales calls and planning calls, teams meetings and in person to meet weekly and monthly goals

  • Schedule site visits and walk throughs with clients and provide assistance to any walk-in clients

  • Be an expert in menu pricing, room layouts and outlet capabilities to accurately communicate with guests

  • Update necessary departments of any changes in event operations, load-in times, guest arrival. 

  • Ensure billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill

  • Assist in daily schedule of events on site with operations managers

  • Work closely with the General Manager to ensure the service and food and beverage experience at (JACX LLC) exceeds guests’ expectations

  • Liaise with the corporate marketing team to bolster promotional efforts

  • Ensure that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with employees, and ensuring accuracy. 

  • Handles all guest concerns and complaints professionally and further communicates these to the General Manager

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness in all areas of Food & Beverage and working condition of departmental equipment and supplies

  • Perform daily walkthrough of all areas and be vigilant of any maintenance issues and report to the appropriate department and follow up to ensure completion 

  • Ensure that Food Hall storage facilities and other areas are maintained, organized, and hygienic

  • Performs managerial opening and closing procedures for the restaurant, private events & all other Food & Beverage outlets based on standard operating procedures

  • Manage scheduling, payroll, financial reporting, and all other administrative tasks

  • Prepare weekly/monthly event sales reports as required by restaurant and ownership 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local partners in the LIC community

  • All other responsibilities assigned by Management

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5 - 8 years of hospitality experience in a high-volume environment

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in event sales, managing and overseeing teams

  • Great attention to detail in both independent execution and the supervision of others

  • Effective, clear, and concise in both verbal and written communication

  • High levels of emotional intelligence to ensure success in guest relations and people management

  • Resourceful and efficient in all tasks with an expert ability to determine priorities

  • Strong critical thinking skills to solve for root cause

  • Organized and timely with the management of multiple tasks at any point in time

  • Action oriented with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team

  • Familiarity with food and beverage basics, menu planning and event coordination

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks

*Onsite presence is required for this position.

The base compensation range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, as well as access to our comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plan (with matching contributions), wellness benefits and all other benefits afforded to full-time Tishman Speyer employees.

This base range reflects a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skill sets, and/or licensure required of an individual in this particular role. The base range is also specific to members of Tishman Speyer’s New York team, as we’ve considered factors specific to this geography.
