Educational FacultyMaster's Degree in Anatomy or a related field.
Dissection skills of all body regions are needed.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching human anatomy.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ph.D. in Anatomy or related field.
MD, DO, DPT, or equivalent with a strong background in anatomy is also acceptable.
Experience with dissection and management of soft cadavers is desired but not mandatory.
Serve as an anatomy lab instructor throughout the first- and second-year curriculum.
Teach anatomy laboratory sessions to medical students.
Plan and develop anatomy laboratory sessions for medical students in conjunction with KUSM faculty in Kansas City.
Assist with administration of lab assessments.
Promptly answer questions from students in person, by email or by other means as is most effective.
Conduct periodic review sessions, as needed, or requested by the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education.
Care for the cadavers and cadaveric specimens and maintain the laboratory.
Prepare & perform laboratory practical examinations for KUSM-W medical students in collaboration with anatomy faculty in Kansas City & Salina.
Coordinate anatomy lab sessions and exams with KUSM faculty in Kansas City and Salina.
Consult or meet with the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education, or their designee, on curriculum development issues or other topics.
Participate in faculty meetings and/or curriculum meetings and retreats, as appropriate.
