About The Role

As an AI Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning models aimed at solving complex business problems.

You will guide key aspects of the model lifecycle, including contributing to strategies for data acquisition, preprocessing, and feature engineering, as well as participating in training, optimisation, and handing over to scale teams for deployment and ongoing monitoring in production environments.

Collaboration is central to the role, as you will work cross-functionally with designers, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and integrate AI solutions into products and services.

Remaining current with the latest advancements in AI research and technologies is essential, enabling you to apply new knowledge to build robust, scalable, and efficient AI systems that drive innovation and deliver tangible value.

Additionally, you will mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence, while championing best practices in AI ethics, data privacy, and responsible AI.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence or related field.

What We Are Looking For:

• Substantial professional experience in designing and implementing analytics/AI systems for R&D or commercial applications. Industry, product or commercial application experience is preferred.

• Deep hands-on experience in the application of AI, data science, ML/DL and other data modelling techniques to real-world problems.

• Experience working with large language models (LLMs) and other natural language processing (NLP) technologies and techniques.

• Proficient in prompt/context engineering and related concepts.

• Strong programming skills in Python.

• Experience working with cloud-native AI services (Azure or AWS or GCP) is strongly desired.

• Proven experience navigating high degrees of uncertainty and ambiguity to achieve successful outcomes with a can-do mindset.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.

• Strong communication skills, with proven expertise in articulating technical concepts and analysis to non-technical business leaders.

• Experience in mentoring, leading or coaching more junior team members.

• Broad experience with multiple kinds of data storage technology (e.g., relational, document, knowledge graph), and vector databases for RAG etc. SQLAlchemy knowledge a plus.

• Knowledge of data security and data privacy principles and regulations.

• Experience with big data processing technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a nice to have.

• Experience with RestAPIs, e.g. FastAPI.

• Experience in version control and standard SDLC practices such as GIT, branches, pull requests, code reviews, unit testing all basic requirements.

• Experience with agile development on multi-disciplinary project team with distributed stakeholders

• Experience working in a large matrix organization such as Accenture.

• Ability to leverage AI in your own ways of working, e.g. a structure approach to AI assisted software development such as familiarity with GitHub Copilot or related tools.
