Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a candidate to direct a team of engineers within a section of the Tactical Fighters Airborne Multifunction Sensors (AMS) Engineering & Sciences (E&S) functional homeroom. This position requires the candidate to be ~100% onsite. The successful candidate will join our high performing, Systems Engineering, Integration Test (SEIT) team in developing and integrating multifunction sensor systems for some of the most advanced systems in the U.S. arsenal. The focus for this role will be for the Tactical Fighter Business unit, working a contract for F-35 programs (Radar, MADL, EODAS) or restricted contracts under Advanced Tactical Programs (ATP).
The selected candidate will clearly demonstrate strong management skills and will have a track record as a motivated leader, an effective communicator, and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. They will have an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish team and department goals.
This is a dual-role manager position, involving balancing both the overall Functional oversight and management of a Systems Engineering group of 10-15 engineers as well as performance of productive work on programs. The candidate will spend ~20% of their time on support of the organization and ~80% of their time on technical program work. The management side involves organizational administrative activities and helping their employees’ performance and career development through guidance and training. The direct program responsibilities may include mission engineering, system architecture development, requirements development/management, system design/analysis, modeling & simulation, model-based systems engineering, IPT/product owner leadership, integration and test, specialties engineering, or other appropriate technical functions.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 5 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Active DoD Secret clearance required
US Citizenship is required
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Solid understanding of the Systems Engineering and Integration and Test processes
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with the integration and test of advanced multifunction sensor systems, such as EOIR, RADAR, and/or Electronic Warfare (EW)
7+ years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.
Advanced degree in engineering
Active DOD Top Secret clearance, SAP, and/or SCI access
Experience leading teams in a functional, programmatic or technical capacity
Experience with technical development programs (e.g. Pathways, FTL, SEA)
This position is contingent upon transfer of DoD Secret Clearance

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Salary Range: $145,000.00 - $217,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
