The Opportunity/Role 📢

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Tooling Engineer to ensure that all Extrusion Tooling is maintained to highest standard and prepared, providing optimum extrusion performance. Responsibilities will include:

  • To ensure that all extrusion tooling is maintained to the highest standard and prepared, providing optimum extrusion performance.

  • Responsible for the repair, maintenance and improvement to all tooling dies,

  • The purpose of this role also includes consistently reviewing our internal processes to support continuous improvement.

  • jigs, fixtures and fittings for tools in line with production and customer requirements to support business objectives.

  • Provide a “hands on” leadership resource to support the management of the tool stores and support with training and mentoring others as and when required.  

Shift and Pay Monday-Thursday 8am - 4:30pm and Friday 8am - 3:30pm £43,000 per annum Attendance bonus: £300 per quarter (subject to 100% attendance)

Requirements:

  • Strong Health & Safety awareness, role-modelling good behaviour.

  • Prior experience in a tooling/toolmaking role, using machine tools/tool room machines.

  • Minimum level 3 engineering (or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ experience working in an engineering environment.

  • Ability to read and understand 2D tooling drawings.

  • Hands on experience in using machine tools (Turning, milling, drilling, etc.)

  • High attention to detail.

  • Evidenced experience of achieving production targets and assisting in the implementation of improvement plans.

  • Ability to work effectively and build relationships in a team environment.

  • Work mostly independently with minimal supervision, work and liaise with a range of internal departments and external suppliers, service providers and customers utilizing effective communication across all functions.
