Senior Linux Software Engineer  

 

Analog Devices (ADI) is seeking an Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join our customer facing solutions team that supports a broad range of industry leading high-performance linear solutions and standard products in end applications such as industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare and communication systems. 

 

The Linux Software Engineer is responsible for developing embedded device drivers and BSPs interfacing our products to various embedded processors including FPGAs. As part of a cross functional team, the Linux Software Engineer performs definition, development, implementation and documentation of the device drivers and BSPs, support the FPGA design team in testing, bring-up and debug; and provide technical support for our global customers. 

 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Architect, create and maintain Linux device drivers and software projects for embedded systems, processors and microcontroller based platforms. 

  • Collaborate and work with Linux mainline maintainers to get your drivers accepted. 

  • Work in close collaboration with the hardware team for developing new platforms.  

  • Provide customer support through Linux subsystem mailing lists and the ADI Engineer Zone forum. 

 

Essential Skills and Competencies: 

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE) or Computer Science (CS) with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the design, implementation, and support of embedded Linux device drivers and software. 

  • Good experience with at least one of the following subsystems: IIO, V4L, ALSA, Ethernet 

  • Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of software development languages, including but not limited to C, C++ and shell scripting. 

  • Experience with SCM (svn, git), cross compiler and in-circuit debugging tools. 

  • Excellent software design, problem solving and analytical debugging skills. 

  • Good understanding of electronics and embedded systems 

  • Have the ability to work independently and in a team to develop innovative solutions. 

  • Ability to comprehend large and complex technical documentation.
