What you will do

We are seeking an experienced BMS Operations Manager to join our expanding team and report directly to the Head of Operations, CEP. In this pivotal role, you will be part of our BMS leadership team, overseeing engineers and project managers within a major projects environment. How You Will Do It:

  • Leadership: Guide a team of project managers, engineers, and construction managers to deliver large-scale programs on time, within budget, and to professional standards.
  • Customer Relations: Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring project alignment.
  • Project Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of project delivery, including design, engineering, installation, and commissioning.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Strategic Decisions: Make critical decisions regarding budget, time, and resources.
  • Commercial Oversight: Manage project finances, including payment applications, variations, and subcontractor management, while maintaining P&L ownership.
  • Process Improvement: Drive standardization and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to management, conduct risk reviews, and manage project risks.
  • Team Development: Develop and maintain plans for team members, supporting their growth.
  • Compliance: Ensure all certifications and licenses are maintained (SMSTS, First Aid, IOSH).

What We Look For:

  • 7+ years of project management experience in the construction industry, with a strong background in BMS, control systems, and M&E.
  • Proven ability to manage and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Experience managing large projects with values typically between £3-£5M.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing health and safety in a construction environment.
  • Valid CSCS/ECS and SMSTS certifications.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Datacentres or critical infrastructure environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of the BMS industry.
  • Additional certifications such as First Aid and IOSH Safety, Health, and Environment for Construction Site Managers.
