Position Responsibilities:

  • Assesses and resolves product/process issues through the product lifecycle.

  • Researches and builds knowledge of Boeing and engineering design principles in order to develop solutions to product/process issues for production Non-Conformances.

  • Apply broad knowledge of Boeing airplane design and/or engineering principles to solve Urgent/AOG airframe issues and design repair solutions

  • Solve technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer

  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for nonconformance’s

  • Design jacking and shoring schemes

  • Design of interim and final structural repairs and conduct static strength analysis

  • Develop minor structural repairs

  • Analyze repairs and/or damage and develop substantiation for dispositions

  • Develop substantiation package for repairs and/or fly-on limits

  • Analyze reported problems for potential safety issues

  • Develop solutions utilizing sound repair logic, experience, and published data

  • Collaborate with other support groups to develop solutions

  • Communicates with customers if additional information is needed or roadblocks arise

  • Perform review of the requests and determine the best avenue for resolution

  • Review outgoing messages for quality

  • Correspond with Operators through BCS, e-mail, IM and telephone

  • Acts as point of contact for incoming calls and BCS Service Requests

  • Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and designs interim and final engineering solutions.

  • Assists with the design of interim structural repairs to restore damaged structure to original design strength capability.

  • The position requires flexibility to work a nonstandard schedule, which may include working “7days-on/7days-off”, holidays and weekends, and second or third shift hours to support the Boeing fleet operating in a 24/7/365 environment


​Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters is required as a basic qualification

  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience

  • Material Review Board Certification experience or similar Liaison Engineering experience

  • ABET Accreditation is preferred

  • Experience with Boeing aircraft data (hands on experience is a plus)

  • Customer Service Experience

  • Airframe and Powerplant

  • License is advantageous

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in: Mechanical, Aerospace / Aeronautical or Material Science Engineering

  • Excellent cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication

  • Relevant technological knowledge

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Ability to lead others, work independently, and in a team environment
