Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Product Owner with domain knowledge of FX markets, trading workflows, and post-trade processes. This role involves overseeing the development and management of a client-facing FX portal/platform, translating business needs into technical solutions, and ensuring regulatory and operational compliance. The ideal candidate will independently prioritize complex backlogs, engage with cross-functional teams, and support seamless delivery of scalable, secure, and high-value platform solutions aligned with organizational goals and industry standards.
Software Requirements
Required Software Proficiency:
Jira — maintaining and managing complex product backlogs supporting agile delivery
Confluence — documenting requirements, workflows, and decisions supporting traceability and transparency
Modern APIs and system integration tools supporting API design, message flow, and system interoperability
Knowledge of system messaging standards (ISO 20022, FIX, or similar) supporting FX transaction and settlement messaging
Familiarity with security frameworks supporting compliance (e.g., encryption, secure API practices)
Preferred Software Skills:
Data dashboards and analytics tools supporting reporting and performance monitoring (Power BI, Tableau)
Tooling supporting product lifecycle management and release management (e.g., DevOps tools supporting Agile delivery)
Overall Responsibilities
Own and manage the product backlog for FX trading, settlement, and related workflows, translating business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria
Collaborate with trading, operations, risk, and technology teams to align product deliverables with strategic business goals
Prioritize the backlog based on business value, regulatory impact, operational risk, and platform stability
Drive the delivery of high-impact features supporting FX workflows, client onboarding, and transaction lifecycle management
Support system and process documentation, including flows, requirements, and compliance supporting standards like ISO 20022
Act as the key liaison for stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating communication, updates, and alignment
Support regulatory audits, risk assessments, and operational reviews ensuring platform compliance and security controls support industry standards
Drive continuous improvement by assessing new features, industry trends, and best practices for FX trading platforms

Manage the product backlog supporting FX trading, settlement, and operational workflows
Engage with stakeholders including trading, operations, and compliance teams to refine requirements and support delivery priorities
Translate functional and technical specifications into user stories and acceptance criteria supporting agile delivery
Collaborate across teams to implement features supporting trade lifecycle, risk mitigation, and compliance
Conduct backlog refinement, sprint planning, and review sessions supporting continuous delivery
Track progress using Jira, supporting release planning, and stakeholder reporting
Maintain detailed documentation supporting compliance, operational procedures, and system design
Support platform enhancements, system migration, and regulatory audits
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field
6+ years supporting FX or trading workflow platforms, with product management or product ownership experience in enterprise environments
Certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent supporting agile practices (preferred)
Proven track record managing product backlogs, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering high-impact features supporting compliance and operational safety
