As digital modes enable increasingly sophisticated fraud and scams our government and finance clients look to us to bring them into a position whereby, they are ready to respond to attacks using the power of advanced technology and build a fraud ecosystem that can combat the fraudsters. You will be required to play a central role in helping our clients achieve this.

Our clients are seeking a reduction of fraud related loss through Identity Theft, Tax Evasion or Hidden Economy, by building digital real-time monitoring capabilities as well as utilizing open source and 3rd party data to identify complex fraud networks and hidden economy.

For the role we will be looking for an Australian Citizen who is eligible for base line security clearance.

Key responsibilities

  • Define current and future state operating models with a focus on risk and compliance

  • Provide insight on initiatives to strengthen system and increase fraud prevention and intervention capabilities

  • Bring industry experience, architecture and leadership (for example, how government agencies, banks, insurers, telcos combat fraud/scams in real time)

  • Bring experience with leading fraud and scams 3rd party solutions from a diverse range of eco-system partners

  • Hands on in designing real time monitoring and intervention capabilities in digital channels and in incorporating external data sources and enhancing network analysis capabilities

  • Work with client's business units, including Fraud & Scams Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, IT, Internal, Legal, Strategic Planning, Risk Analytics, Front Office, Middle Office and Back Office to gain thorough understanding of the corporate risk processes and procedures development

  • Identify, define and document complex business specifications for risk platforms and procedures

  • Develop and implement digital fraud prevention strategies

  • Provide training and guidance to clients and peers on digital fraud prevention best practices

Job Qualifications

To be successful you will have:

  • Must be an Australian citizen (for baseline clearance purposes)

  • Minimum 10 years of work experience

  • Fraud enterprise and business architecture experience and operating model

  • Experience working within the Government and/or Banking Sector

  • Experience working in advisory services to Financial Services and/or Government clients, or experience working in those industries (Banking, Insurance or Capital Markets) on fraud risk management activities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proven experience in digital fraud prevention and detection (latest technologies)

  • Strong expertise and understanding in areas below:

    • Fraud and scams risk management

    • Fraud analytics

    • Financial crime risk management

    • Fraud and financial crime industry standards and regulation

  • People management skills, with proven experience leading teams

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, ideally using MS suite - particularly PowerPoint

  • Nice to have are experience in providing recommendations on appropriate tools
