What you will do 
We are looking for a skilled HVAC Maintenance Mechanic who has worked in residential, light commercial, and/or heavy commercial markets to join our team to work the most advanced heavy commercial and industrial cutting-edge equipment.  Examples of tasks/equipment you will be working on could include: changing filters/belts, greasing bearings, chiller tube brushing, cooling tower cleaning, coil cleaning, pump maintenance, delivery of equipment/parts, troubleshooting and repairs on light commercial equipment, etc.

Maintenance Mechanic must have practical working experience in residential, light commercial, or commercial mechanical equipment. May be required to satisfactorily pass an examination to identify special skills. The scope of work shall be limited to commercial HVACR service. Maintenance Mechanic may partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, absorption machines, open-drive screw chillers, and ammonia systems. 

Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems. 

What we look for 

Required 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Two (2) years of Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry or community college HVAC diploma. 
  • Computer savvy with good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must be a good-standing member of the UA Local 787 JTAC or willing to join the Union as a registered maintenance mechanic
  • Valid and good standing driver’s license
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers (i.e. Smartphone, iPad) 

Preferred 

  • 1-5 years of Residential, commercial, and/or industrial work experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Refrigeration Certification.
