Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$44,200.00 - $72,800.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers' Claim Organization is at the heart of our business by providing assurance to our customers during life's rainy days. As a Claim Rep Trainee, Subrogation you will provide quality claim handling throughout the claim life cycle including maintaining full compliance with internal and external quality standards and state specific regulations. As part of the hiring process, this position requires the completion of an online pre-employment assessment.

What Will You Do?

  • Complete virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training which includes the overall instruction, exposure, and preparation.
  • Completion of an internal training program is required to progress to next level position. The training may require travel.
  • Handles various aspects of a subrogation claim during the training period which may include completing investigations, evaluating recovery potential,
  • identifying the cause of loss, identifying responsible parties and their carriers, obtaining necessary statements and developing theories of liability and determining claim resolution while adhering to Claim Best Practices and Special Account Communication instructions.
  • Achieve a positive result by maximizing subrogation potential, delivering consistent service quality and effective claim handling.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage a claim inventory, including diary management, and documenting plans of action.
  • Communicate and apprise all parties as needed. Provide new facts as they become available, their impact upon the liability analysis and settlement options.
  • Recognize the need to preserve evidence to verify the nature and extent of the loss.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Two years of professional and or customer service work experience.
  • Ability to be customer centric.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail ensuring data accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment managing multiple priorities and the ability to use analytical thinking to make decisions.

What is a Must Have?

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One-year professional work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree required.
