About the Position

In this role you will...

• Monitor and provide treatment for the reduction of mosquitos in assigned areas

• Locate sources (larval habitats) of mosquitoes, obtaining GPS readings and photos of the habitats

• Obtain written permission from owners for routine inspections and treatments on private property

• Maintain data for assigned areas of responsibility in the MapVision Database or other approved systems

• Conduct investigations in response to customer service requests, set and collect traps, conduct landing rates and routine inspections

• Help perform maintenance on equipment, vehicles, and/or MMS Facilities

• Speak with customers and provide literature on mosquitos and prevention

• Monitor environmental factors including wind speed, rainfall, and/or tidal flooding

• Serve as team leader for MMS Aides

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (no weekends!)

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Valid Florida Driver’s License at time of hire

• Must pass Core and Public Health Pesticide Applicator’s exams within six (6) months of employment (We can help with this!)

Physical Demands:

• May occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds

Subject to Passing Substance Screening:  This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.  An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.

Starting Pay: $20.10 (Step 1), may be higher based on direct experience
