ChampionX has an immediate need for a Sr. Procurement Manager located in Sugar Land, TX.  The Sr. Procurement Manager collaborates with manufacturing; logistics, research & development and business units, this take-charge leader will lead the step change improvement of world class sourcing in order to deliver incremental total delivered cost efficiency, security of supply, supplier innovation and process improvements.

What You Will Do:

o    Drives the ChampionX strategy for procurement of Direct materials through the development of strategic business relationships domestically and globally where necessary.

o    Responsible for selecting suppliers and negotiating approx $200 million per year in purchases. Has authority to issue purchase agreements, blanket orders, and purchase orders within corporate purchasing policy. Has primary authority for source selection and price negotiation.

o    In collaboration with supply chain. logistics, research & development, & marketing/sales, ensures security of supply and total delivered cost improvements in alignment with business goals.

o    Reviews and negotiate monthly price changes in relation to market movements. Advises the business units on price trends, force majeures, and industry capacity changes. Becomes the subject matter expert for assigned categories.

o    Accesses and interprets subscription services intel (e.g. IHS, ICIS, ChemData).

o    Aligns processes with S&OP to support long term capital and product supply decisions. Develops long term supply planning opportunities for strategic investment utilizing recommendations from network optimization.

o    Identifies and drives qualification of new sources in collaboration with R&D.

o    Expected to be a critical thinker to drive process improvements by developing and integrating best practices across multiple functions and strategic sourcing teams.

o    Collaborates with Supply Chain and Marketing to support & enable sales growth.

o    Position may include one or more direct reports. Selects, trains, motivates, promotes, and disciplines staff based on company policy.

o    Travel up to 10%

Minimum Qualifications:

o    Bachelor's Degree in engineering, chemistry, or related business degree

o    7 years minimum experience in Procurement

o    Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

o    Proven track record of supply partnering, productivity savings, successful procurement strategies, and leading & coaching global teams

o    Specific industry knowledge and relationships in Solvents and/or Surfactants

o    Knowledge of commercial business law

o    SAP Experience

o    3+ years supervisory experience

o    Exceptional verbal and written communication

o    Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and time management skills

o    Proficient in Microsoft office suite
