As the Record to Report (GL) Accounting Team Lead, you will be organizing and managing the team of Accountants to deliver their accountabilities on time and to a high quality. Also, you will be responsible for process and policy adherence and compliance, responsible for the timely, complete and accurate accounting for assigned Legal entity(s). As well as ensuring that the accounting for assigned Legal entity is in line with BMI policies and standards-compliant with local statutory regulations.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and owning the month, quarter, and year-end close timetables and therein managing the GL accountants to perform their responsibilities effectively

  • Driving continuous improvement in the accounting for each legal entity through the process, data, systems (e.g. Robotics), and or prioritization (e.g. Stop/Start/Continue) efforts

  • Problem-solving and fixing issues within the team and with related process teams like AP, Intercompany, Stats etc.

  • Developing the team, seeking to provide opportunities for them to attain accredited experience, and stay abreast of changes in Accounting

  • Being on the front foot with engaging the business where there are issues of non-compliance with the process

  • Overseeing the preparation of the monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statement for each Legal Entity

  • Overseeing the review and analysis of the results before submitting to the Group

  • Overseeing the preparation of Legal Entity variance analysis and investigating major movements

  • Supporting business/business partners through educating and advising them on accounting matters ensuring the business activities are correctly reflected in the books of record

  • Attaining assurance that entries are booked in line with accounting policies and standards and assurance that full balance sheet reconciliations are performed on a regular basis

  • Supporting audits with information and explanations as required

  • Working in conjunction with Intercompany team, Statutory team, and Tax with inputs/outputs to support these interrelated processes.

About you: 

  • Relevant People Management working experience in accounting

  • Good leadership, team player, problem-solving skills

  • English language skills (preferably C1 or higher)

  • Knowledge of accounting standards, and accounting Systems (preferably SAP)

  • Good understanding of customer engagement, and customer services processes

Salary ranges from 2,900 to 4,400 euro gross depending on your experience.
