Key Responsibilities

  • Handle initial notifications of loss from clients, brokers, or stakeholders.
  • Provide clear communication and updates to policyholders and brokers throughout the claims process.
  • Register and process claims in accordance with company and regulatory procedures.
  • Assess claim validity, arrange for loss adjusters/inspections, and review documentation.
  • Negotiate liability, quantum (amount), and settlement terms with claimants and their representatives.
  • Ensure all activities comply with local insurance legislation  
  • Work closely with technical teams, underwriters, and legal advisors for complex cases.
  • Keep claims records complete and up-to-date.
  • Provide feedback on claims trends and support process enhancements.

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • 5 years Claims Handler Tech / Onshore experience.
  • Knowledge of the DACH Market.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Responsible, well-organized, and able to handle cases autonomously.
  • Inquisitive mind—curious, proactive in clarifying facts, and keen to uncover details.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-growing, international environment.
  • Confident with IT/claims systems
  • Able to work in a cross-border team
  • Discretion and empathy, especially in sensitive situations.
  • Certified insurance professional (e.g. Kaufmann/-frau für Versicherungen und Finanzen or comparable qualification).
  • Additional insurance, legal, or compliance training is an advantage.
