Your Role:​

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to drive strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple logistics categories, including regional trucking, warehousing, and global air & ocean freight. This role focuses on cost optimization, supplier performance, and operational excellence.

In your daily work you will:

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for trucking, warehousing, air freight, and ocean freight categories.

• Conduct market research, spend analysis, and category reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across all logistics categories

• Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics service providers.

• Negotiate complex contracts to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.

• Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and conduct regular business reviews.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with operational needs.

• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reduce costs

• Drive cost optimization initiatives and report savings against targets.

• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes impacting logistics.

• Develop standardized contract templates and service level agreements for each logistics category

• Ensure contract compliance and manage contract renewal processes

• Collaborate with legal team to mitigate contractual risks

• Create and maintain category roadmaps with clear objectives, timelines, and expected outcomes

• Identify and qualify new potential logistics partners to diversify supplier base

Your background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field; MBA preferred.

• Minimum 8 years of procurement/sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in logistics category management.

• Proven expertise in managing trucking, warehousing, air freight, and ocean freight categories.

• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of delivering cost savings.

• In-depth knowledge of logistics operations, market dynamics, and cost structures.

• Excellent analytical and project management skills.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools

• Familiarity with international shipping regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures

• Understanding of logistics network optimization and distribution strategies Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS)
