The Assistant Project Manager plays an important role in helping the Workplace Environments team sustainably scale and iterate on our global office footprint.

Stripe's Workplace team is responsible for delivering welcoming, safe, functional and beautiful environments across the globe. And for ensuring that Stripe's real estate portfolio continues to evolve to stay aligned with our mission and the needs of our users. As an Assistant Workplace Project Manager at Stripe, you will primarily be responsible for supporting fellow Environments team PMs in the delivery of a variety of office fit out projects globally. In doing so, you will collaborate with the broader Workplace team and cross functional stakeholders to implement Stripe's design guidelines, operational standards, and real estate strategy. 

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of various office fit-out projects, from smaller refresh and “light touch” office deployments to coordination with Environments team PMs on larger office projects.
  • Work closely with Workplace colleagues, cross functional partners, and the leadership team to support the delivery of global offices that are safe, inclusive and welcoming environments that reflect Stripe's Workplace philosophies and our operating principles.
  • Actively manage vendor onboarding, contracting, PO creation and invoicing for external suppliers including architects, project managers, general contractors, furniture vendors, design consultants, etc.
  • Support the Environments team in our mission to ensure that all of our offices' designs have operational integrity and function at their core, while ensuring that elements of whimsy, craft and beauty are seamlessly integrated into the user experience.
  • Ensure that our team documentation remains organized and shared with the correct stakeholders within our team and across Stripe, including:
  • Assist with the coordination of team onsites, weekly meeting agendas, retrospectives and cross functional meetings.

Minimum requirements

  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow within the project management space.
  • Some experience collaborating within a workplace, interior design, real estate or construction team. 
  • Some familiarity with workplace design and/or construction concepts, processes and methodologies. 
  • Experience with vendor onboarding and management 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • An understanding of how to build and manage a project budget. Proficiency in Google Sheets.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to convey ideas clearly to both internal teams and external partners.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience directly managing or supporting workplace design and build projects for a fast-paced tech company 
  • Background in Interior design and/or architecture 
  • Contract furniture experience
  • Familiarity with reading commercial leases and work letters
  • Experience with facilities/operations management in a workplace environment
  • Experience or education related to constructing spaces with a focus on IEQ, wellness and sustainability (professional credentials related these disciplines a bonus)
