The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Embedded Firmware Developer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Work io product development commercialization projects
Develop and maintain firmware for embedded systems
Work with new and exciting technologies in IOT and wireless communication
Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept models to demonstrate new technologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and data scientists
Evaluate new technologies and assess their potential applications and benefits.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution
Five (5) plus years of embedded firmware in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Advanced degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
Experience with defining, developing and implementing embedded systems, algorithms, and firmware
Experience with development and development of digital filters for acoustics or vibration
Experience with a variety of DSPs and microcontrollers
Understanding of real-time coding practices
Scrum or agile development trained
Understanding of intellectual property
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Work location: Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but requires on-site presence at Indianapolis, IN location)
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
