Assembly and Test Mechanic

Labor Grade 6 | Hourly | FAA Safety Sensitive
West Palm Beach, Florida

This is a 3rd shift . Sun-Thursday, Midnight -7:00am , Work 6.5 hours per shift and get padi for 8 hours.

What You Will Do

  • Assemble, disassemble, and rework aerospace components and subassemblies using detailed work instructions, routers, engineering drawings, and specifications
  • Perform functional and operational testing of assemblies to verify conformance to engineering and quality requirements
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, gauges, and precision measuring equipment to complete assembly and test operations
  • Document work performed, measurements, and test results in manufacturing systems or production travelers
  • Identify, document, and escalate nonconforming conditions in accordance with quality and safety procedures
  • Follow all FAA, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements associated with an FAA safety-sensitive manufacturing role
  • Work in a production environment that may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, and the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Lift and carry items up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Support production schedules that may include shift work, overtime, or training on alternate shifts as required by business needs

What You Will Learn

  • Pratt & Whitney manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety requirements within an FAA-regulated environment
  • Assembly and test procedures specific to Pratt & Whitney aerospace components and engine programs
  • Proper use and calibration awareness of precision measuring equipment and torque-controlled tools
  • Documentation and traceability requirements within production and manufacturing execution systems
  • Root cause awareness and escalation processes for nonconforming hardware
  • Continuous improvement practices and standard work expectations in a production setting
  • Cross-training opportunities to expand skills across assembly, test, and rework operations

Qualifications You Must Have

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 1 year of related experience performing mechanical assembly, disassembly, testing, or rework in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and basic measuring equipment
  • Experience reading and following written work instructions, routers, or engineering documentation
  • Experience documenting work performed in production records, travelers, or manufacturing systems
  • Experience working in compliance with safety and quality requirements in an FAA safety-sensitive manufacturing role

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience performing mechanical assembly or testing in an aerospace, aviation, or regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of material
  • Experience working with precision measurement tools and torque-controlled processes
  • Familiarity with quality systems, inspection checkpoints, and nonconformance reporting
  • Prior experience supporting shift work, overtime, or flexible schedules in a production setting
