Northrop Grumman is seeking an qualified Principal Industrial Engineer to join our team of qualified, highly talented and diverse individuals to analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.
This job reports up through the facilities department. This role is for a facility radiating range and engineering lab planning position in the Baltimore area. The candidate will be responsible for fielding lab requests from program and business areas, working with the internal customers to define requirements, identify available locations, and create initial layouts of proposed spaces. A base knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, in order to review construction design drawings, as well as auto-cad experience will be beneficial for this role. This role will interface with the purchasing department, security, environmental health and safety, and other support organizations in order to accomplish daily tasks. The ability to travel to each building in the BWI area will be necessary.
Basic Qualifications
5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; OR 3 years of related experience with a Master’s degree; OR 9 years of related experience will be accepted in lieu of degree
Auto-Cad experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
US Citizenship Required
Preferred Qualifications
Layout or design experience
Familiarity with architectural design drawings
Ability to manage multiple projects.
