As the Director for our Process Advisory practice in Appian’s Customer Success team, you will lead the creation and implementation of our process advisory center of excellence. This role requires a visionary leader with expertise in business consulting; IT strategy, process design; process optimization; and change management.  You will help us expand our service offerings to include strategic interventions to help Executive teams integrate their company strategy with their application roadmap.  You will design methodologies and tools that our expert consultants and industry leaders can utilize to help customers transform their processes and effectively leverage our platform to align with their strategic objectives. This role involves close collaboration and partnership with Appian’s geographic leaders.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Develop a service offer that helps top executives identify the most valuable sequence of process automation initiatives.
  • Define Appian’s methodology to help our customers to review their  business processes, identify optimization opportunities, quantify value  and define a transformation roadmap.
  • Develop a process automation group of practitioners that will help our customers to define their transformation critical path and that will become a reference on processes expertise, data driven analysis, root cause analysis, and Agile principles. 
  • Lead large-scale transformation engagements that deliver measurable business value.
  • Work on process innovation initiatives and new process development across key industries.
  • Provide leadership in driving a culture of strategic thinking, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with program and process management standards and guidelines.
  • Foster an environment or growth and development within your team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of consulting experience advising clients and internal teams on transformation strategy and process automation.
  • Proven track record in selling and  leading large-scale transformation engagements that delivered measurable business value.
  • Highly developed communication skills to collaborate, build relationships, influence, negotiate and persuade others at all levels within business and IT stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and applied experience with various innovation approaches, including, but not limited to: lean startup, zone management, design thinking, testing business ideas, product discovery, discovery experiments, validation experiments, etc.
  • Management of top-tier consultants to leverage their expertise while maintaining a balance between innovation and meeting project objectives.
  • Excelling in navigating and delivering results within a matrix organization structure.
  • Utilize visualizations and story-driven design to create a shared big-picture view that drives consistent actions, highlights key aspects of complex problems, uncovers opportunities, and communicates complex ideas clearly and compellingly.
  • Understanding of process design techniques like BPM, Lean, Agile, Value Stream Mapping, Workflow Automation, Design Thinking or BPR.
