About the role

We’re looking for an experienced SAP HCM Payroll Consultant to join a long-term engagement with SBB (Swiss Federal Railways), working in a modern BizDevOps and Agile environment. This role combines hands-on payroll support and configuration with project delivery across HR IT initiatives.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing SAP HCM Payroll, driving change requests, and contributing to cross-functional projects—from payroll optimizations to data-related initiatives. The position offers a strong mix of operations, testing, and project ownership, with exposure to integrations and end-to-end solution delivery.

Daily challenges

  • Support and maintain SAP HCM Payroll (incident resolution, change requests, customizing)
  • Configure payroll elements (wage types, tax parameters, payroll settings)
  • Monitor and troubleshoot payroll processes, interfaces, and background jobs
  • Coordinate and execute end-to-end, regression, and integration testing
  • Handle yearly payroll activities (calendar, period tables, system updates)
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams in Agile/DevOps (Jira, Confluence)
  • Support project delivery including Go-Live and cross-system coordination

eXperience and skills required

  • Strong experience in SAP HCM Payroll (PY) configuration and support
  • Solid knowledge of payroll processes, customizing, and incident handling
  • Experience with testing (E2E, regression, interface testing)
  • Familiarity with Agile / DevOps tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Basic ABAP debugging and technical troubleshooting (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of SAP background jobs, interfaces, and monitoring tools
  • Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills

We offer salary from 36,400 to 44,200 EUR/annual EUR. Salary can be higher depending on experience and skillset.
