About the Role:
This position is focused within HARMAN Automotive. The Electronics Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team is
looking for an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to support local and remote Electronics
process/equipment activities. This position will have strong influence on Harman's OEM Electronics Advanced
Manufacturing Engineering initiatives; supported through frequent interactions with regional and local colleagues to
deliver on AME prototype and plant process/equipment launch requirements.
Your Team:
As a part of supervisory responsibilities, if there is not an employee to attend the process, the direct boss will
have to attend the process or assign the activities to another employee (with equal qualifications)
What You Will Do:
Responsible for North America programs, supporting from RFI, RFQ, ED/DV Build, Shakeout/PV builds until
SOP of PCBA manufacturing areas to potentially include: SMT Line, Through Hole solder, PCBA Inspection,
coating and milling. Enentualy provide support EU and Asian Programs.
Work closely with HW and ME Engineering team to ensure that new products are designed for manufacturing
per Harman process specifications (DFM/DFA) and create new specifications as required.
Make automation decisions, develop proof of concepts and evaluate new assembly technologies
Lead advanced problem solving efforts related to process development, quality and efficiency
Develop suppliers to deliver cost-efficient manufacturing process solutions
Develop innovative manufacturing process solutions and models that support business and process KPIs
Act as the Process Engineering leader representing AME with internal and external customers for process engineering issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch, test, and validate new tools, machines, and processes in
global manufacturing locations.
Using Harman´s AME Standard Operating Procedures, ensure pilot Design Validation activities meet the
Product Lifecycle Management milestone objectives.
Work closely with AME assembly and process engineers to launch, test and validate new tools, machines and
processes in Queretaro plant.
Work on Manufacturing RFQ for new electronics product designs. Prepare process, tooling, and equipment cost
quotes and justify project cost.
Simultaneously work on multiple projects. Work closely with the Product Engineering team to ensure that new
product design for manufacturing per Harman process specifications.
Work with cross-functional team to close any open Design Validation issues prior to the transfer of launch
information to the manufacturing plant.
Support manufacturing launch team on daily activities during Process Validation (PV) phase.
Using robust Design of Experiments, develop new and additional high-volume manufacturing capabilities with
outside integrators from concept through successful operation.
Lead Non-conforming systemic events root cause analysis
Provide feedback to IPMS, PMs, and TPMs per their specific questions or requirments
Work closely with AME Global to update standards focusing on Harmans organization benefits
Proved support SMT-HI Process Eng. during the industrialization phase
Responsible for developing panel designs for projects in RFI, RFQ and industrialization phases. Provide panel
drawings based on the panel standards and also look for cost savings
changesInitiate design chages for value engineering
Work with all engineering disciplines and manufacturing to identify cost-reduction oportunities
Responsible for approving the build reports is filled out with all the data required: LOP and Lessons learned are
filled out with all the issues found during the prototype build
SMT DFM Management for each program industrialized at AME Qro.
Responsible for re-workability analysis for each program industrialized at AME Qro.
Process Handover management, follow up that the information is loaded in Hand Over AME Client by Sr.
Process Engineer.

BSMET, BSEET with 3 to 10 years of related experience
Thorough knowledge of machine design concepts
Solid Modeling CAD experience required like CREO, solid works, or equivalent is preferred
Machine runoff and statistical analysis experience
Should be able to create process documentation and work instructions (VJIs)
Project finance knowledge/capital budgets and request for appropriations
Project management of timelines and budgets
Advanced English level 90% (reading and writing that allows fluid presentations)
Project Management (New Launches, transfer of lines , increase capacity, process improvements)
Risk analysis oriented
