JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus Office of Outreach and Continuing Education invites applications from individuals interested in teaching Non-Credit classes. Various short-term courses, in a variety of health and safety topic areas, will be offered during the day, evening, and on weekends at the campus in Lemont Furnace or at selected off campus locations. Classes can meet one or more days per week and the length of class time can vary from a minimum of 2 hours to a maximum of 8 hours per day.

Instructors will be needed in the following subject areas:

  • Emergency services training and education
  • Healthcare
  • Safety
  • Other first responder-oriented courses (such as law enforcement and rescue programs) to professionals and entry level workers in various industries and occupations.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Instructors should have proper credentials and certifications as required by the specific training program along with work experience in the program content area.
  • Teaching experience with adult students is preferred.

Pay for these classes is determined based on instructor experience and the frequency and duration of each class, with no University benefits.

 

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
