As a Senior UI Developer at Kemper, you will provide technical consulting for application software development and computing technologies, with a strong focus on developing intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces with responsive design and excellent user experience. You will primarily work on agent-facing applications, ensuring they are easy to use and meet the needs of our agents. At Kemper, you will collaborate with a team of experts passionate about innovative and result-driven technologies, continuously learning and growing together. 

Responsibilities 

• UI Development 

• Design, Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications specifically for agent-facing auto insurance platforms. 

• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly interfaces that enhance the digital experience for insurance agents. 

• Implement mobile-first and responsive design principles to ensure optimal user experience across devices. 

• Develop and maintain reusable UI components. 

• Collaborate with UX designers to translate design wireframes into high-quality code. 

• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. 

• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. 

• Conduct UI testing using Karma to ensure the quality and functionality of the user interface. 

• Work with JSON and Postman for API integration and testing. 

• Troubleshoot and debug issues to improve overall user experience. 

 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience or appropriate technical certification. 

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, with a strong background in web UI development on agent-facing applications and familiarity with the auto insurance industry. 

• Expert in JavaScript framework (Angular/TypeScript), NPM, HTML, CSS, Angular CLI, Git, RxJS. 

• Front-end experience (HTML5, Material/Tailwinds, CSS3) developing responsive designed applications 
• Experience with Mobile development - iOS, Android, ReactNative. 
• Solid understanding of mobile-first and responsive design principles

• Proficiency with the latest version Angular framework. 

• Experience with UI testing frameworks and tools, particularly Karma. 

• Experience with consuming Web Services (REST, SOAP) and APIs 

• Experience with cloud-based CDN services like Amazon CloudFront. 

• Experience with static code analysis and scanning tools such as SonarQube 

• Experience with PWA is a plus. 

• This is a hybrid position working at a Kemper office location in Alpharetta, Birmingham, Chicago or Jacksonville
