DESCRIPTION

The Procurement Strategy & Supply Base Transformation Manager drives the execution of complex, cross-category transformation initiatives across CMD to continuously improve supply base performance. This role collaborates with a cross-functional team of procurement, operations, quality, R&D, and finance to prioritize transformation initiatives, develop and deploy supplier strategies, and lead programs that enhance cost, quality, delivery, and risk outcomes.

Scale of Responsibilities

  • Leads global and regional supply base transformation initiatives to deliver key performance indicators including cost savings, supplier performance improvement, risk mitigation, and supply base optimization
  • Supports development and leads execution of multi-year supply base strategies focused on supplier capability, innovation, and long-term value creation
  • Drives supplier segmentation, rationalization, and capability development across multiple categories and sites

Technical Responsibilities

  • Monitors market intelligence and supply base trends, assesses impact, and refines transformation plans to support business requirements
  • Facilitates transparency of supply base insights, analytics, and recommendations to internal stakeholders to support decision-making
  • Analyzes supplier performance data to identify improvement opportunities and establish continuous improvement objectives
  • Leads supplier performance reviews and drives accountability against contractual and operational KPIs
  • Drives implementation of supplier development programs focused on quality, delivery, cost, and innovation
  • Leads or supports negotiations tied to supplier performance improvement, capability expansion, or strategic agreements aligned with transformation goals

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders (quality, engineering, operations, finance) to align transformation initiatives with business priorities
  • Leads cross-functional project teams to deliver transformation programs across multiple geographies
  • Establishes program roadmaps, priorities, and governance aligned with CMD supply base strategy
  • Drives structured problem-solving, continuous improvement, and change management within the supply base
  • Influences stakeholders without direct authority to ensure execution and results delivery

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience in a multinational environment
  • Strong experience in supplier performance management, supplier development, or transformation initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional programs and delivering measurable business impact
  • Business insight – ability to assess supply market dynamics and translate into actionable strategies
  • Experience in regulated industries (life sciences, medical device, semiconductor, or similar) preferred
  • Proven track record in continuous improvement and driving year-over-year performance gains
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence across a matrixed organization
  • Ability to travel ~25%
