We have a well-established global Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) team, which supports the firm on a wide range of business development, marketing and client relationship management activities.

The team is divided into several key areas: including practice M&BD, clients and sectors, pitches and pursuits, which manage strategic global and regional pitches; corporate communications, which comprises public relations, brand, design, events, and digital; and campaigns and projects. 

Working Hours

35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required.  We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns.  Our approach to hybrid working allows for up to 40% of time working from home and 60% working in the office, please contact a member of the recruitment team to discuss further.

Role Overview

Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) is central to the firm’s strategy, with a global team recognised for supporting the firm across a broad range of business development, marketing, and client relationship management initiatives.

The Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) Systems Senior Adviser will play a key role in the operational support and delivery of our global marketing technology stack. Reporting to the M&BD Systems Manager, this role partners closely with M&BD Systems colleagues, global M&BD and Comms, the IT team, and external vendors to ensure our systems are well maintained, continually improved, and effectively used across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services. All members of the firm participate in our Responsible
Business program.

Operational Support and System Administration

  • Support the day‑to‑day administration and maintenance of the firm’s M&BD systems, including:

    • CRM (InterAction).

    • Email Marketing (Litera Concep).

    • Enterprise Relationship Management (Introhive).

    • Experience Management (Litera Foundation).

  • Provide timely and accurate user support, triage queries, and escalate issues as appropriate to the Systems Manager or IT.

  • Deliver end‑user training to M&BD, other business teams, and lawyers.

  • Help the global M&BD and Comms team to leverage AI and embedded AI and automation features within M&BD systems.

Data Quality and Process Improvement

  • Execute initiatives to improve data quality across all M&BD systems.

  • Drive projects to enhance specific data sets, e.g. Alumni, Key Clients, offices, practices and sectors.

  • Assist in analysing system usage and identifying opportunities for process efficiency.

  • Contribute to the development of guidance, documentation, and best practices.

Project Delivery and Technology Enhancement

  • Support the Systems Manager in delivering system enhancements, updates, and projects. Immediate focus on:

    • Hogan Lovells' marketing technology and supporting processes.

    • Further enhancement of our Foundation experience management platform.

    • Improving preference management for clients via iPublish and InterAction.

    • Updating workflows and processes within the M&BD Systems team to enhance user experience and improve efficiency.

  • Gather and document user requirements, validate needs, and help translate them into clear technical or functional specifications.

  • Assist with testing, rollout coordination, and post‑implementation support.

Vendor and Stakeholder Support

  • Work with vendors and IT colleagues to track support tickets, upgrades, issue resolution, and system improvements.

  • Help maintain system documentation, training resources, and configuration records.

  • Provide regular updates to the Systems Manager and support reporting to the Global Head of M&BD Operations and Systems.

Team and Firm Contribution

  • Collaborate closely with global M&BD colleagues and cross‑functional teams.

  • Represent the Systems team in broader M&BD initiatives where required.

  • Participate actively in the firm’s global Responsible Business programme.

  • Duties may evolve to reflect changes in team structure, priorities, or technology.

Skills & Experience

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of marketing technology concepts relevant to M&BD systems.

  • Ability to translate technical information into clear business language.

  • Solid analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time‑management.

  • Client‑service mindset with a focus on timely delivery.

  • Strong communication skills, comfortable supporting a range of stakeholders.

  • Experience working collaboratively on cross‑functional projects.

  • Proactive approach to managing workload and solving user needs.

Education & Experience

  • Typically 6 years+ of experience working with CRM, marketing automation, experience management, or data‑driven solutions (law firm or professional services experience preferred).

  • Hands‑on experience with InterAction, Litera Concep, Introhive, Litera Foundation, or comparable systems advantageous.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft CoPilot and other emerging AI tools beneficial.
