As an Executive Director of Finance Operations for the Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus, you are responsible for directing complex financial activities to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic objectives. In this role, you will provide executive leadership and assume direct financial accountability for the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, overseeing day-to-day financial management, short- and long-term planning, and strategic growth initiatives. In this capacity, you will serve as a principal leader for the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, guiding organizational and corporate financial objectives to advance the overall mission and success of the organization.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Develop short- and long-range financial plans for the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus that are consistent with organizational goals and strategies.
Include both operational and capital planning.
Partner with Finance division, key executive, operational, Institute and market leaders.
Lead financial operations for enterprise Institutes and/or sub-markets including key initiatives and oversight functions (i.e. Advisory or Governance teams, Hospital Boards, etc.).
Oversight of Leaders responsible for key corporate finance initiatives (i.e. Analyst Development/Recruitment, Financial Reporting, Cost management, etc.)
Report on financial matters and participate in management and policy decisions.
Guide, interpret, analyze and communicate financial position, forecasts and models to the assigned to aid in decision making process.
Participate and lead in assigned integration efforts for Institutes and/or sub-markets.
Lead operational areas through approved key enterprise, sub-market and/or corporate initiatives (i.e. Financial Planning, Capital Planning, etc.).
Develop complex business plans to support operations.
Coordinate enterprise/sub-market budgets and ensure that areas operate in compliance with allocated funding and enterprise strategy.
Develop strategic and complex departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Plan, organize and direct all strategic activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, performance management, and employee engagement and continuing education initiatives.
Demonstrate strategic and very high-level knowledge of applicable statutory, regulatory and administrative requirements relative to operations and ensure compliance with the same.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's degree
10 years of functionally related experience
Seven years of demonstrated management experience in a complex multi-hospital healthcare system
Five years of experience direct financial accountability for areas in regard to business planning, project management, financial planning and analysis, long-range forecasting, financial modeling, budgeting and capital planning
Experience in a complex, multi-hospital healthcare system
Leadership experience aligned with Executive Director level
Proven leadership in managing relationships
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Master’s Degree with a major in Accounting and/or Finance
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification
Healthcare experience (other industries considered)
Strong strategic planning experience
Executive presence (interaction with enterprise leaders)
Comfortable operating in a complex, matrixed organization
Physical Requirements:
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to travel throughout the hospital system and, in some locations, off-site.
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
This position must be available after hours for support.
