Summary:

The Technical Director based onsite at our Santa Clara campus connects the modeling and simulation team based in Italy to our SPG BUs. The job will include:

- Identify HVPs where simulation can provide the highest value.

- Contribute to project management (e.g., prioritization) and to the interaction with key stakeholder in the BUs.

- Contribute/manage the technical discussion through presentation and discussions with BUs technical people.

- Suggest areas of expansion for team & Ginestra S/W capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Provides leadership and direction through managers for providing perspective of customer process and device roadmaps (N to N+2) for a broad function area.  

Recognized as a technology expert:  N, N+1, N+2 

Identifies inflections, threats and opportunities for share and TAM growth. Determines segmentation & requirements.  

Delivers a detailed competitive analysis. Develops a winning product/ business strategy

Develops and manages relationships with technical buyers. Improves customer(s) preference to engage Applied on technical problems

Manages local technical resources and works closely with BU teams to ensure high installed base performance and customer(s) satisfaction

Owns and manages TRMs and technical engagement programs with customer(s)

Protects customer(s) IP, protects Applied IP, gathers competitive intelligence

Discovers customer(s) HVPs, understands options and influences the customer’s technical choices.  

Designs alternative technology solutions

and improves customer(s) preference to engage Applied on technical problems

For TD Process Integration: identifies cross-BU opportunities and DPY HVP

Required skills:

Technical: 

o   Strong multi-discipline technical background 

o   Experience in driving large R&D initiatives in the semiconductor process technology. 

o   Extensive experience in semiconductor technology design, technology, and reliability co-optimization for different market segments. 

o   Large experience with TCAD (technology computer aided design) device or process simulation tools. 

Business: extensive experience in leading customer engagements and demonstrated ability to manage product developments leading/interfacing with internal and external customers and suppliers on engineering issues/development.  

Leadership : Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams in a global, cross-functional environment. Experience managing diverse groups and driving collaboration across teams and locations.  

Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, senior management, and cross-functional teams. 

Preferred skills:

·       Experience in business development defining roadmap for future technology and products;  

·       Experience in defining strategies, and processes addressing high value problems (HVP) 

·       Good systematic thinking, analytical skill and problem solving 

·       Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 

·       Publications that demonstrate expertise in such areas as device physics or process flow physics 

 

Experience and education level requirements  

·                Education: Ph.D. preferred or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, or a related STEM field. 

·                Experience: 10+ work experience as a Director of engineering or in a similar senior-level position in semiconductor industries preferably with an expertise

U.S. Salary Range:

$172,000.00 - $236,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
