About the Role

As a Senior Technical Data Business Analyst you will be joining the API team. This position will work with one or more business domains, supporting a strategic program aimed at delivering Data as a Strategy solutions. The role will predominantly focus on gathering and analysing requirements, defining processes, and creating user stories. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders and other roles within the tribe, translating requirements into both functional and data specifications. This role requires a solid understanding of data management principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into user stories and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and meticulously document business requirements and processes. 
  • Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security is maintained when translating business requirements into user stories.  
  • Providing comprehensive training and support to end-users and other team members on data-related tools and processes. 
  • Developing complex systems specifications, process flow, and conversion strategies. 
  • Creating complex technical specifications, data flow diagrams, and functional user documentation. 
  • Contributing to the development of new tools, processes, and solutions to meet desired product needs. . 
  • Performing analysis on existing systems; identify options for potential solutions and assess for both technical and business suitability. 
  • Working between remote development teams, internal IT, and business to ensure requirements are being met. 

Requirements:

  • Have an understanding of software development methodologies, platforms, tools, and languages
  • Be able to analyse data and understanding it’s specific business impacts. 
  • Experience working closely with data architecture and a high-level understanding of data models & schemas. 
  • Have good communication skills that allow for effective communication across all levels of the organisation. 
  • Be able to understand the role of a BA in the full software development life cycle. 
  • Experience in gathering business requirements and translating them into user stories and technical specifications on complex or large projects; business requirements gathering, dependency mapping. 
  • Experience of working in an agile environment and using recognised development methodologies, e.g., Agile, SCRUM, and KANBAN. 
  • Have understanding of SQL, Python or other programming languages used for data manipulation or ETL tools like Informatica, Talend or Streamsets.
