Job Description

Job Summary:

The Payment Processing Representative is responsible for the daily decisioning and processing of customer and third party checks as appropriate. Ensures all payments are managed timely and accurately according to P&P while collaborating with various departments as needed.

Job Duties:

  • Executes upon payment processing tasks and functions according to policy and procedures.  Escalates issues and challenges to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for managing own daily workload and assignments within service level objectives.  Assists peers with assignment completion, as needed.
  • Maintains a high level of accuracy and completeness within tasks and functions performed.  Ensure account level review and documentation is thorough and clear.
  • Respond to internal and external (verbal and written) inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Champions best practices.  Identifies process improvements and proactively communicates possible solutions with leadership
  • Assists leadership in special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years of work-related experience. Experience in consumer auto finance industry preferred.
  • Experience with account maintenance functions strongly preferred
  • 2 years of administrative accounting preferred.
  • Familiarity with indirect loan documentation, i.e. contracts, ancillary products, certificates, etc. preferred.
  • A working knowledge of automobile finance, collections, loan services, and/or specialty areas preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Database skills preferred.
  • Proficiency in SHAW Collections and SHAW Retail preferred.
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills required, as well as the ability to utilize appropriate analysis, judgment, and logic.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail; able to methodically review the execution of procedures and identify issues.
