Job Description:

Position Summary 

 

The Production Lead operator position is responsible and accountable for assisting the Production Manager/Supervisor in achieving production requirements for work groups or product line work cells by focusing on safety, service, quality. Assisting in scheduling and coordinating workflow, supporting employee training, providing employee guidance and motivation, following through of delegated work, and providing input on employee performance and other duties as assigned. 

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Expedites production of priority jobs to provide on time delivery for customers Assists in identifying and recommending procedures for scrap reduction Reviews completed work orders for accuracy (i.e. start up, shutdown time, material usage, part counts, etc.) and resolves inaccuracies. Uses ERP system (SAP preferred) to review, transact and monitor workflow and achievement of production goals.   Coordinates employee assignments and breaks for work area personnel Performs duties within technical expertise such as setting up, tearing down or equipment operation, testing and or inspection of products. Ensures any operator daily check lists and tasks are completed.   

  • Work directly with planning, materials, quality teams to resolve manufacturing/delivery issues. 

  • Work directly with Engineering to identify and resolve process issues, develop new products and or processes, and be involved with improvement activities.  

  • Provides recognition to employees Assists and or conducts employee training for effective performance. Assists in ensuring proper cross training is reviewed and updated accordingly. Assists in proactively addressing performance issues with employees Adheres to Company policies and procedures Provides input to Production Manager/Supervisor with employee performance reviews and corrective actions Assists with coordinating effective delegation of work assignments and training Assists with conducting shift meetings and coordinating mandatory training. 

  • Focuses on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, On Time Delivery, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product/system quality Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities Participates actively in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc. 

  • Make recommendation for safety improvements. Ensure EHS submissions are entered into ETQ, participate in Gemba walks and JSA audits. 

  • Ensures quality parts are produced for customers Assists in investigating and evaluating quality defects as assigned and in determining appropriate actions to be taken Assists with recommending and implementing solutions to improve quality of products.   

  • Promotes direct action to ensure safety of employees and visitors within company Monitors work area and employees’ performance for adherence to safety procedures, work restrictions, cleanliness, and potential hazards to include correct use of hand tools, ergonomically work habits, equipment and machine operation procedure usage. 

  • Display and promote a “LEAD BY EXAMPLE” attitude. 

  • Ensure Entegris PACE values are followed in the production areas and throughout the organization.   

  • Other responsibilities as they arise in production areas.  

Qualifications and Preferred Skills: 

  • ​High school diploma or equivalent is required

  • 5 years manufacturing experience preferred

  • Ability to read and understand documented processes and procedures.

  • Good attention to detail; ability to perform basic math computations and computer data entry.

  • Ability to use measuring devices and hand tools.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb a ladder up to 4 ft. and walk and stand during entire shift.

  • Ability to repetitively pinch and grasp hand tools, repetitively twist, bend and reach upward and handle all materials required in manufacturing, etc.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.   

​Physical Requirements:  

  • ​This job requires the ability to stand for long periods.  

  • ​Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and you must be able to move throughout the department/facility.  

  • ​Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  

  • ​Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.   

  • ​Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  

​Work Environment:  

  • ​The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.   

  • ​This is a manufacturing environment. It involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock and moderate to high noise levels.   

  • ​Individuals may be required to wear a bunny suit for long periods at a time in a clean room environment.   

  • ​Wearing safety glasses and Nitrile Gloves are also required.   

  • ​Other safety garments or protection may need to be worn, depending on the nature of the work area.  

  • ​Exposure to metal powders, isopropyl alcohol, and Di water
