As the Clinical Educator, you will be accountable for the training and education of field staff within the district. You will have the competence to deliver training, education, and in- services for all business lines as outlined by the district education plan ensuring the delivery of safe, quality care and service.

What you’ll do:
- Select and educate preceptors for students on placement
- Provides clinical orientation to Nurses
- Arranges mandatory or centre specific education including back care training
- Operationalize the district educational plan in collaboration with the Care and Services Manager
- Deliver PSS training programs in the district
- Conduct needs analysis to support creation of education plan for the District
- Stay informed of changes in practice settings that affect scope of practice
- Champion ParaMed’s policies and procedures through education and training of staff
- Integrate client-centered practice expectations in all education and training events
What you bring:
- Registration/licensing in good standing as a Registered Nurse with provincial regulatory college
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in an adult education environment
- Preferably has a minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience as a practicing Registered Nurse in a community setting
- C.N.A. certification as a Community Health Nurse is an asset
- Working knowledge of applicable legislation including but not limited to the Mental Health Act, Substitute Decisions Act, Healthcare Consent Act, Privacy / Personal Health Information Act
- Competence in best practices and standards of care for palliative, wound care, intravenous therapy, oncology and other specialties as relevant to the district needs
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of applicable community resources available for clients and families
- Demonstrates commitment to professional development through involvement in committees, memberships, and associations relevant to home health care.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license and vehicle and able to travel across the district to deliver education to staff
- Excellent computer skills including experience in Word, Powerpoint and Excel are required
