The Native Apps Foundation team builds core infrastructure for the Native Apps platform. Enterprises have lots of data on Snowflake - our platform allows bringing “compute to data”, unlocking enterprise GenAI in a secure way. Native apps are available through Snowflake Marketplace, including AI & ML apps from Kumo, LandingAI or RelationalAI.

Join us to lead the effort of adding a new runtime for data apps, Snowpark Container Services. At Snowflake, we strive for simplicity of our designs and user experiences. We hide unnecessary complexity. Native Apps with Container Services will contribute to Snowflake’s mission by making building, distributing and running complex data apps simple, including ones relying on GPUs like LLMs.

We’re still early in our journey to build a robust data apps ecosystem and we are looking for talented and passionate engineers to grow and innovate with us. 

AS A TECH LEAD AND STAFF ENGINEER, YOU WILL:

• Act as a CTO for your area, drive the technical direction, influence the product roadmap and collaborate across teams and functions
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers through design, execution and delivery
• Be an advocate of high quality code, excellent designs, outstanding user experience and flawless operational health
• Help us grow  the Toronto engineering hub

OUR IDEAL SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER WILL HAVE:

• 10+ years industry experience designing, building and supporting large-scale systems
• Strong fundamental computer science and programming skills, ideally in Java
• Experience as a tech lead delivering customer-facing products end-to-end, collaborating across teams and functions
• Interest establishing processes and best practices around quality and velocity
• Knowledge of database internals, app marketplaces or experience building tools for developers is a plus.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors.
