As a member of our world class support team, your role is to delight our customers with your passion and knowledge of the Snowflake Data Cloud Platform. Customers will look to you for technical guidance and for expert advice with regards to their effective and optimal use of Snowflake. You will be the voice of the customer into Snowflake’s product and engineering teams for product feedback and improvements. You will play an integral role in building knowledge within the team and be part of strategic initiatives for organizational and process improvements. 

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Support Engineer to join one of our three product area teams.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Interest in working with a world class Data Cloud Platform, learn new technologies, growing your technical skills
  • Experience in a Technical Support environment or a technical customer facing role
  • Experience in any of: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud platforms
  • Scripting/coding experience in Python or Java
  • Fluent level Japanese skills
  • Basic level English skills

SQL TEAM

You will focus on solving customer issues related to query errors and performance issues on database core functionality. 

  • Writing, troubleshooting, debugging experience in advanced SQL
  • Experience in SQL data types

DATA PLATFORM TEAM

You will focus on solving customer issues related to Snowflake’s integration with other applications and tools, and various incidents covering data migration. 

  • Experience in big data and/or various databases 
  • Experience in troubleshooting network-related issues like SSL, Proxy, and OCSP
  • Experience in deploying containers using Docker and building virtual test environments using software like VMware, Hyper-V, and Parallels
  • Experience in any of: data platform, data warehouse, data migration, ETL tools

APPLICATION & SECURITY TEAM

You will focus on solving customer issues related to database security, authentication and the Snowflake application’s UI.

  • Experience in Internet Security, Networking Technologies, and Protocols such as

TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, Load Balancers, Proxies and Firewalls

  • Experience in any of: Oauth, SSL, SSH, SSO, SAML, Active Directory
  • Data warehousing experience is a plus but not essential
