Division Summary

The MSD Division delivers high-end analytical instrumentation, applications, software, and services to customers across a broad range of industries and research environments throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Position Summary

This leadership role is responsible for the APAC regional Services P&L and overall performance, including field service delivery, operations, customer support, and regional service strategy execution across all markets within the region.

Services include instrument installation, validation, parts support, field maintenance, service contracts, and lifecycle support for MSD products.

The Senior Director, Services – APAC will:

  • Lead a regional organization of service professionals across multiple countries.
  • Drive operational excellence, customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and profitability.
  • Develop and execute regional service strategies aligned with global business objectives.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, IT, HR, and Finance to ensure alignment and scalable growth.
  • Build strong customer relationships to support regional expansion and long-term partnerships.

This role requires experience scaling service operations in high-growth APAC markets and leading effectively within a complex, matrixed multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver APAC Services P&L, ensuring commitments in revenue growth, profitability, and cash flow.
  • Lead Field Service Operations, Service Delivery, Field Applications, and Customer Success Management across the region.
  • Identify current and future customer needs across APAC markets and implement service solutions that drive measurable value.
  • Ensure high performance and service consistency for key regional and global accounts operating in APAC.
  • Develop and execute near-term (1–2 year) and long-term (3–5 year) regional service strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Drive alignment with global service leadership to ensure best practice sharing and operational consistency.
  • Implement standard work, KPIs, and management dashboards to improve visibility and accountability.
  • Champion Thermo Fisher’s Practical Process Improvement (PPI) culture to accelerate continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with regional commercial leaders and global business partners to support integrated customer solutions.
  • Strengthen talent development, succession planning, and leadership capability within the APAC Services organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong experience in service operations leadership within a multinational organization.
  • Demonstrated success managing a regional P&L with consistent profitable growth.
  • Proven ability to scale service operations across multiple countries in Asia-Pacific.
  • Experience working effectively within a matrixed global organization.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience partnering with sales and business development teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and deliver differentiated service solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% across the APAC region.
