Amentum is seeking a Small Engine Mechanic to join our team on Andros Island, Bahamas to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission. This position is reserved for Bahamian citizens only. Must be a citizen of the Bahamas.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintain, repair, and service small engines found in various equipment. This includes diagnosing issues, performing routine maintenance, and making necessary repairs to ensure the equipment runs safely and efficiently.

• Maintain all small engine equipment in the Supply Tool Crib, Boat Yard, and Ball Field Lawnmower Sheds and Site-2 Navy Base.

• Report directly to the Roads & Grounds Manager.

• Identify and diagnose problems with engines, including electrical, mechanical, and fuel system issues.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, spark plug replacements, and lubricating parts.

• Replace worn or defective parts, adjust components, and reassemble engines after repairs. 

• Service and maintaining the equipment, including inspecting, testing, and ensuring proper functioning.

• Discuss equipment issues and maintenance plans with customers, providing estimates for repairs, and potentially training them on equipment use. 

• Keep small, motorized equipment running smoothly and reliably.

• Will be responsible to work on the following types of equipment:

• ​Riding Lawnmower

• Self-repel Lawnmowers

• Concrete Saw

• Pressure Washer

• Air Compressor

• Blower

• Edger

• Chainsaws

• Generators

• Water pump

• Various other small, motorized vehicles and equipment 

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 3 years of general maintenance experience.

• Working knowledge of small engine mechanic.

• Working knowledge of tools for maintenance.

• Ability read and write in English.

• Ability to pass a Police Record Check.

• Updated Government Issued Driver's License.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Compensation Details:

$13.00
