Administrative/Lab Assistant

Purina Animal Nutrition is looking for a dynamic Administrative/Lab Assistant to work in our Mauston, WI location. The ideal applicant possesses excellent customer service skills, maturity, integrity, and strong attention to detail. Successful candidates make attendance a priority and are reliable and punctual. Excellent communication skills are a must along with a friendly, professional demeanor.

Standard job focuses include:

  • Prepare documents necessary for plant operations

  • Perform testing of ingredients in a lab environment

Skills required:

  • Solid Microsoft Office skills

  • Excellent typing and computer skills

Experience-Education (Required):

  • High school diploma/GED  

  • 6+ months administrative experience

  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite of programs. 

  • Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written.


Experience-Education (Preferred):

  • Bachelors Degree

  • 1+ years of administrative experience

  • High level of initiative for problem resolution and continuous improvement efforts. 

  • Ability to work with teams cross-functionally. 

  • Detail oriented.  

  • Team oriented attitude

  • Self-starter/Self-motivated

  • Critical reasoning skills

  • Excellent organization and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively with many different types of people

  • Provide overall administrative support for plant operations

  • Answer phones and direct phone calls

  • Communicate with a diverse group of people from a variety of departments


Competencies-Skills (Preferred):

  • Experience with accounts payables in a manufacturing /warehouse environment preferred Experience with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards/Oracle

  • Well-developed time management and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to communicate in a variety of methods and with a variety of personalities

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Ability to deal with a changing/evolving environment  

Salary: $43,760 - $65,640
