Pay Details:

$141,960 - $230,880 USD

Job Description:

The Internal Wholesaling Manager (IWM) is responsible for the direct management of a national team of Internal Wholesalers - Investment and Planning Specialists (IWIPS). The IWIPS team is focused on driving overall sales proficiency for investment management, annuities and the adoption and use of Planning tools to achieve financial targets. The IWM will be responsible for developing sales strategies, concepts marketing ideas and support to the field sales teams through the IWIPS team and key strategic partnerships. The IWM partners with Wealth Market Leaders (WML) and Financial Advisor Managers (FAM) and Sales Modeling teams to identify areas needing sales support, training, workshops to drive sales results and achieve Plan.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Directs supervision of national team of Wealth Internal Wholesalers - Investment and Planning Specialists (IWIPS) including hiring, on-boarding, direct management and coaching 
  • IWIPS team coaches to planning competence
  • IWIPS team coaches to investment management competence
  • Through initiatives, IWIPS team's efforts grows new asset inflows, NAG and revenue
  • Focus is on ongoing advisor development through advisor training, workshops/role plays, one-on-one coaching sessions and participation in weekly / monthly calls and meetings
  • Executes coordinated territory coverage with IWIPS team
  • Initiates and tracks sales campaigns to promote investment management and planning strategies to the field advisors. 
  • Creates and maintains working relationships with WMLs and FAMs and other key personnel
  • Partners with Investment Strategy team to help communicate our investment process and philosophy and provide advice around financial planning, investment management and annuity / insurance solutions
  • Participates in the development of content for advisor training and sales calls; a lead for the weekly advisor sales calls and assist with providing investment and planning content and coordinating with BGAs for annuity content.  The product and planning subject matter expert
  • Coordinates with product development teams to support investment management, planning and annuity / insurance sales development and product enhancements
  • Works with Wealth Practice Management to develop and reinforce advisor training content and the TD Wealth sales process
  • Leveraging third party / external wholesalers in the field to provide additional resources to develop field advisors.
  • Works with internal shared services team to elevate process and servicing issues raised by the field to create efficiencies and a better advisor and client experience
  • Utilizes and understands both internal and third-party resources to support team learning, improve sales results and support partnership with Retail and Commercial

Education & Experience:

  • 10+ years of Wealth financial services sales experience
  • BA / BS degree in finance/marketing or equivalent work experience
  • Required Licenses or Registrations (or ability to obtain within Licensing & Registration Schedule): Series 7, 24, and 65; Life/Health; CFP preferred
  • Proven managerial skills
  • Proven sales leadership experience and ability to effectively partner with others
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are required; ability to communicate complex investment ideas
  • Strong understanding of the financial markets, investment process, planning, and investment and insurance product knowledge
  • Strong presentation, training/coaching and closing skills
  • Territory management, organizational and project management skills; proven ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient with salesforce, advisor platform systems and Microsoft office products
  • Extensive travel throughout geography required

  • Satisfactory results on a criminal background check, credit report check, civil litigation search, and regulatory agency or self-regulatory organization enforcement action search, and statements/certification from job applicant regarding administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by any government agency/authority or self-regulatory organization, are required by federal law for this position.
