About this role:

The Account Manager plays an essential role by executing sales activities for a portfolio of clients and ensuring the smooth delivery of services to assigned accounts. This position focuses on developing relationships with customers, identifying opportunities for growth, and providing exceptional support.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with assigned customers, acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day inquiries, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any immediate needs or issues.

  • Develop and manage strategic key and regional accounts in sauces and dressings (SSD) and dairy category.

  • Lead pricing actions, contract negotiations, and develop long-term relationship with customers.

  • Attend meetings and visit customer sites to understand client needs and provide tailored solutions that enhance their experience in order to achieve sales targets.

  • Identify new opportunities and upskilling potential within existing accounts, providing insights and recommendations to management and senior colleagues.

  • Provide consultative selling support during opportunities development.

  • Assist the team with developing sales plans, presentations, tradeshows, and reports, shaping revenue goals, driving sales forecasting and supporting regional decision-making.

  • Support the forecasting process by providing input based on customer interactions and sales data, maintaining awareness of market trends and competitor activity, and sharing relevant information with the broader team.

  • Collaborate effectively with other Sales & Marketing and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless service delivery by tracking sales activities, monitoring client orders and ensuring timely arrival of products.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science or related.  

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in selling food ingredients.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of business development and/or account management, with full knowledge of methodologies, processes, practices, and atypical issues within sales.

  • Largely able to operate independently, though may seek guidance on atypical or complex account management issues.

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)

  • Frequently conducts detailed analysis and investigation to identify customised solutions for customers, determine best options, or suggest improvements to existing methods.

  • This role involves communication with cross-functional teams to address and resolve shared issues, collaborate on processes or transactions, and interpret or clarify technical information to enhance understanding.

  • Strong communication skills to persuade and influence assigned accounts. The role needs to adapt styles, interpret and explain information to differing audiences from inside and outside the organisation.
