Summary of the role

This position is a critical role in managing the In-force reinsured portfolio as well as relationships with all reinsurers.  Ceded Re group is also responsible for representing Corebridge’s interests with major stakeholders both internally and externally with industry groups, reinsurers, government and regulatory bodies, and various L&R stakeholders.

About the role 

VP Ceded Reinsurance (In Force Management) will focus on:

Providing oversight on deliverables associated with 3rd party and affiliated reinsurance transactions (excluding mortality reinsurance), including:

  • Settlements statements in line with treaties

  • Completion of regular payments or asset transfer between counterparties

  • Updates to existing treaties for changes in products or market conditions

  • Reporting or data flow requirements

Managing performance of existing reinsurance transactions

  • Tracking performance of ceded business on gross and net basis

  • Evaluating experience to define implications for future performance

  • Ensuring performance within the standards defined within the Reinsurance Agreements

Establishing and maintaining relationships with current Corebridge reinsurers

Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within Corebridge

  • Regular review of business results with the P&L owners

  • Actively participating in the revenue/budget process with Corebridge Business Unit CFOs where reinsurance relationships are in place

  • Exploring options for restructuring or changes to existing arrangements to align with strategic priorities

Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements, meeting principles of sound corporate governance and environmental, health, safety and quality standards

What we are looking for

  • 7+ years related experience with the ability to deal with complex accounts

  • Deep subject matter expertise in Life Insurance Products required

  • Retirement Product expertise preferred

  • Significant reinsurance structuring and transactions expertise

  • Proven experience developing and executing multi-year roadmaps

  • Maintain market relationships in order to identify and facilitate placement and resolve issues

  • Strong knowledge of the relevant reinsurer marketplace, including alternate solutions

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree and/or other insurance designations such as ASA/FSA, CERA, CPCU, or ARM preferred.

  • Clear and accessible communicator, influencer, and facilitator

For positions based in New York, New Jersey or California the base salary range is $160,000 - $225,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
